Case Study: The Go Green Home
Case Study Flooring
The flooring installed at The Go Green Home is made of rapidly renewable materials, laid with low-VOC adhesives, and coated with a low-VOC finish to increase its durability. The flooring for the home includes bamboo from Plyboo and Cork form Nova Floorings. Bamboo is an environmentally friendly substitute for traditional hardwood such as oak and new technology allows it to have a strikingly similar appearance to wood. Bamboo is a grass which self-regenerates for harvesting every five to seven years, requiring little in the way of fertilizers or pesticides. Cork is harvested from the outer layer of bark of the cork oak tree found in the Mediterranean. Both cork and bamboo are attractive and durable and they can come in several different finishes and designs.
