Case Study: The Go Green Home
Case Study Interior Paint
Many manufacturers now offer no- and low-VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) paints that release significantly fewer polluting toxins, which means there is no off-gassing, no stinky paint smell and no disposal problem as with traditional paints. Low- and no-VOC paint is applied in the same manner and it is available in all the same colors as traditional paint. The amount of VOCs can vary widely -- if you are using paint with a VOC level of less than 10 mg/liter you’re doing pretty well. At The Go Green Home we are using Benjamin Moore's Low-VOC Aura Paint; we've road-tested it in a couple of projects and it performs well: it covers easily, it doesn't smell funny and it's sturdy enough to withstand the wear and tear of Life.
